2009 is the centenary of Louis Bleriot’s landing in Dover.
There are lots of celebrations planned for the weekend of July 25th & 26th.
Including:
An Air Pageant
Anglo-French & Anglo-Italian events on the seafront
A Fireworks Spectacular
Events at the Duke of York’s Royal Military School

There’s a display of the plans for the redevelopment of the former Buckland Paper Mill site open to the public tomorrow (24th June 2009) from 1pm until 9pm.
It’s in the old Mill Manager’s house at the site and is well worth a quick visit.
The public consensus seems to be of positive approval for the plans, with most people expressing a wish for them to just ‘get on with it’ as soon as possible!
Representatives from SEEDA and the CTM architects will be present.
The developers for the site are The Gillcrest Group.
The phasing of the project has been re-jigged a little...

Tucked away in a corner of Pencester Gardens is a phenomenally successful Dover dance school – CJ’s Dance and Fitness.
Last night was CJ’s 15th annual show at The Leas Cliff Hall in Folkestone.
The show starred about 300 (yes, that’s three hundred!) young Dovorians, and was attended by nearly nine hundred parents, grandparents, family and friends.
The dance school and the show just continues to go from strength to strength, it has become a real melting pot of local dance talent. A couple of this year’s senior leavers are going on to study dance at university and professional...
